Been Looking for this song for a long time, And here it is. 'Casino Clash' is a song from the 2004 video game The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge, based on the 1993 animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas. The song is performed during the second confrontation between Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie, that takes place in the giant roulette in Oogie's lair. The song is performed by Oogie Boogie's voice actor Ken Page and Jack. Casino is a kind of 'super group' of Neo-Progressive Rock with members better known from bands like Arena, Pendragon, Threshold, Twelfth Night and Pallas. My CD version of this sole album by Casino - which was hard to find and very expensive - has a sticker on the front that mentions all these bands. According to legend, the lyrics to the Stones' Casino Boogie was written by scattering words and phrases on a studio table. The band then just picked the words at random and made a song up. “Casino Boogie” is a song by British band the Rolling Stones, from their 1972 album, Exile on Main St. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it was recorded at Villa Nellcote, Richards’ home in the South of France. The song has a straightforward blues rhythm which produces the “boogie” feel. Richards’ prominent backing vocals and Bobby Keys’ saxophone solo are other features of the track.
Writing[edit]
Struggling to write lyrics for the song, Jagger wrote small, random phrases on torn pieces of paper. These were mixed up and then picked out one-by-one by the band members. The order of the lyrics on the record is the same order in which they were picked. The song was written in open G tuning with the capo at the second fret putting it into A. Its opening riff is never revisited through the rest of the song. After the last verse, the instrumental outro features a lengthy guitar solo from Mick Taylor till the fade out.
Release[edit]
“Casino Boogie” was not released as a single and has never been played live by the Stones.[2]
